"I have had Irritable Bowel Syndrome for 10 years. Even though I seemed to be in an overall good state of health, I was concerned I had sensitivities to certain foods in my diet. I had not eaten dairy, shellfish or anything with spice for a long time. My husband and I bought a motorhome so I could travel because I always had to plan my day prior to going anywhere out of town. This made my job difficult as well because I drove for a living.
I have always believed in western medicine and alternative care, but I have found that western medicine doesn’t address IBS with anything except drugs. I had previously tried and experienced success with other types of alternative care so I was open-minded to Dr. Patrick’s approach.
When I first began seeing Dr. Patrick I hoped that I would be able to add shellfish, lettuce and the occasional dairy product back into my diet. Now that I have been seeing Dr. Patrick, I eat lettuce a few times a week and I’m even loosing weight. I haven’t tried eating any dairy yet. My husband has even noticed changes in me. I am much more relaxed when I eat and I’m not starving after meals anymore because I can eat more variety.
What I like about Dr. Patrick is that he is easy to talk to and he explains his approach well about how he is going to address your problem. If you follow what Dr. Patrick tells you to do and what to change, you will get results. But if I don’t I found I’ll pay for it later by how I feel."
"I am 63, retired and in an overall good state of health, except when I started having chronic bowel problems. Initially I had gone to see a gastrointestinal doctor and had a colonoscopy. The gastrointestinal doctor told me I was going to have to live with IBS the rest of my life.
“The gastrointestinal doctor told me I was going to have to live with IBS for the rest of my life."
I saw an ad in the local newspaper about IBS and Dr. Patrick and at that point I was willing to try anything. I had been living with IBS for about 5 years, but as time went on the severity of my condition worsened. The IBS was really affecting my life. I was afraid to leave the house without taking antidiarrheal medications. Long car rides or vacations were unpredictable.
I hoped through my visits with Dr. Patrick that I would be able to manage my IBS so that I could feel comfortable living a normal life. And, I am pleased to say, it worked for me.
Currently, I am on ‘maintenance’ and see Dr. Patrick about every 3 months. As long as I eat right foods for me and take my digestive enzymes I am back to normal again! I am now able to take long car rides and go on vacations without a worry."
