Eating Right and Still Having Bowel Problems?

One in five Americans suffer from chronic digestive issues causing problems that make going about their daily lives an inconvenient challenge.

If you are eating right but still not feeling right, you are not alone.

Joe, a general contractor, had chronic diarrhea, bloating after eating, indigestion constipation and abdominal cramping. He was embarrassed because his workers would notice his frequent visits to the job site’s Port-a-Pot. He had a ‘potty map’ in his head on his way to every job site, just in case. He tried to pack a lunch instead of eating junk food on the fly but his schedule was just too hectic.

Cramps, Bowerl Problems, IBS, Irritable Bower Syndrome

Linda had to switch her part time job from morning to afternoon hours because her toileting ritual consumed her entire morning. She routinely alternated between diarrhea and constipation despite eliminating sodas. Some days it took hours to get started because she had the painful urge to go but it was frustratingly unproductive. She followed her doctor’s advice - drink more water and eat more fiber but it didn’t help.

Mary, a recently retired teacher, had dreams of travel and spending more time with her friends and family. But after every meal her stomach would experience bloating after eating like she was 4 months pregnant and she was very gassy. She tried to figure out what foods were causing the problems but it was hit and miss. It wasn’t until she noticed mucus in her stool that she became alarmed. Her medical doctor told her she had IBS.

People like Joe, Linda and Mary have Irritable Bowel Syndrome, or IBS. They know it is NOT fun. The impact on their lives is, at best, inconvenient and worse embarrassing, painful and limits their lifestyle choices.

Like Mary, many people with IBS are told “It’s in their head” or “You’ll just have to live with it”. Standard medical advice to increase water or fiber works for a select few because it’s nonspecific advice that does not get to the root cause of the problem.

Folks like Joe and Linda who may not have been officially diagnosed with IBS have had to rearrange their lives and follow healthy recipes. They may try band-aid answers such as dietary restrictions, or OTC laxatives and anti diarrheal drugs with minor success.

What is Irritable Bowel?

The problem for anyone with irritable bowel syndrome is there is no definitive medical test for IBS. Medical doctors cannot identify either the cause or offer an effective, long lasting irritable bowel treatment. The complications that can arise from untreated digestive problems are numerous and negative. See the chart below:

Untreated, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and unresolved digestive problems
can have negative and cumulative complication, such as chronic diarrhea and chronic constipation.

What causes Irritable Bowel Syndrome?

If you have an irritated bowel it simply means you have a poorly functioning digestive system. Something is not working right. It has been compromised due to food sensitivities, food intolerances or food allergies, or there may be a neurological blockage that is causing problems.

At the Digestion Relief Center we know that when we find the cause, you’ve found your cure. We understand that a well functioning digestive system must be able to both assimilate and eliminate your food properly.

Through our clinical testing we can identify the foods that are creating your symptoms. Our natural, non-invasive, systemic approach works with the digestion and nervous systems to desensitize your body to no longer react to the substances causing you problems.

Many of our satisfied patients in the Chico Redding and Northern California area share the joy of being able to eat some of their favorite foods again without reoccurring problems.

If traditional medical or self help approaches for your irritable bowel are not working, call Dr. Patrick at 530-899-8741 to schedule a consultation or reserve your seat to attend our next seminar in Chico. We can help you live your life free of the pain and embarrassment of IBS.
